Despite some decent successes by the BMW 2002, its replacement, the 3-series, never was rallied in a big style and never had any manufacturer support. Subsequently it never got any super results either, but there have been a number of rather interesting outings with the car especially in the hands of Timo Mäkinen and Ingvar Carlsson.
